We were founded in 2008 as J Ortega Design Group with the intent of building a team of great designers and developers, all under one roof, that could quickly turn around beautiful, client tailored solutions at a reasonable price. Our team now has over 15 years of combined design and development experience.

In late 2009, we started planning a rebrand for our company. In February of 2010 Umbrella Media was officially born.

Better Business Bureau

In October of 2009, we joined the Better Business Bureau. As a company that works remotely with many of our clients, we felt that joining the BBB would be an important step to show that we are a reputable company that is accountable, trustworthy, and is going to stand behind our work.

Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

We joined the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in the Summer of 2009. The hispanic chamber has allowed us to meet many new people in Austin and allowed us to not only expand our business, but grow our network of professional resources and talent.

San Marcos Texas Chamber of Commerce

The San Marcos Chamber of Commerce is a fast paced chamber that is all about getting things done. While we joined the chamber in September of 2009, we’ve been involved with them on several occasions during the last year, both directly, and indirectly through our partner SparkNet Creative.

All of our websites and applications are created using award winning backend frameworks such as Wordpress, Drupal, and DotNetNuke. Using these frameworks gives you the benefit of cost savings, and increased security.
